hereby inform you that TRANS GENIC INC. (HO: Mashiki-machi, Kamimashiki-gun,
Kumamoto, CEO: Masahiro Koreishi) (hereinafter referred to as q‡TRANS
GENICqˆ) will start constructing Kobe Research Center (tentative
name) this October, 2004. |

This research center will be the core facility for our main business,
which is the production of knockout mice . In constructing the new
research center, we plan to shift the main place where the manipulation
of ES cells and gene analysis, which are a part of process of knockout
mice production, have been done from the head office in Kumamoto
to Kobe Research Center, and to make the research center the stronghold
of our company where new technology will be developed. |

The area around Kobe Port Island Phase II Site, where TRANS GENIC
plans to construct Kobe Research Center is planned for medical and
pharmaceutical companies and research institutes under q‡the Medical
Industry Scheme for City of Kobeqˆ. We believe that the proximity
will provide a great deal of synergy and interaction between TRANS
GENIC and these related companies and this expansion to the area
would strengthen our research and development or our sales activity.

Regarding this site, we concluded an official
agreement q‡the Reservation of lease contractqˆwith a city of Kobe
on July 7, 2003.
With this agreement, we can lease the land for approximately
20 years, the first ten years of which time the rent is free of charge.
