We have cyclopaedically produced a great number of knockout mice
and knockout ES clones by exchangeable gene trap method (international
application No. of the patent:WO 01/005987) and exclusively disclosed
their sequence information under agreements with certain pharmaceutical
companies. As our obligation to disclose these information was
completed, we revised our sequence information service of knockout
mice, and then decided to disclose "TG Resource Bank" in order
to start business of licensing non-exclusive use rights.
"TG Resource Bank" covers all lists of strains to which we own rights (approximately
550 knockout mouse strains and 2,000 knockout ES clones as of September 21, 2006)
and it is possible for every business, university and institution to see the
lists on our website. We believe "TG Resource Bank" is precious libraries of
bioresources to discover gene functions in vivo. The libraries will help pharmaceutical
companies identify innovative drugable targets and public research institutes
find out gene functions. We will individually grant a non-exclusive use right
of the strains to provide them onerously.
We will operate the domestic licensing business through our agent, Charles River
Laboratories Japan, Inc. and the international licensing business through our
partner, genOway in France.
