Notice of Introduction of New Antibody-Producing Technology
(DNA Immunization) and Launch of the Related Business

We hereby announce that TRANS GENIC INC. (hereinafter referred to as “we”) concluded license agreement with Behavioral and Medical Sciences Research Consortium (hereinafter referred to as “BeMS”) on October 16, 2006 for antibody-producing technology by DNA immunization, in order to introduce the technology from BeMS and launch the related business.

We have examined with BeMS how to intorduce antibody-production technology by DNA immunization and the way to launch its business. The technology was invented by Taizo Taniguchi, M.D., Ph.D., who is a director of BeMS, a venture firm originated in Kobe University.
We have recently completed examining usefulness of the technology and concluded a license agreement with BeMS in order for us to start the related business.
Unlike an immunization method in which protein and peptides are used as antigens, expression vectors which encode objective proteins are directly injected in animals in this technology. Therefore, the antigens easily retain their original structures in vivo, enabling us to produce high value-added antibodies.
We will provide this technology as a custom-made antibody-production service. Moreover, combining it with our fundamental technology for producing a high-affinity antibodies (GANP® Mouse Technology), we aim to develop even more useful antibody-producing technologies in order to apply them to the fields of diagnostic reagents and pharmaceutics.

The effects of said agreement and business on our performance are as yet unknown, but we will make an announcement as soon as it is revealed that the business will have a significant impact on our future performance.
